Please find the below information regarding a new free online training initiative for Coaches and Officials.

These courses can be undertaken at your own pace and it only takes only a few hours, a certificate is also granted upon completion.

 These courses can be a very useful club resource; potentially it could become a club policy that it is a requirement for all new parents/volunteers who assist the club via coaching and or officiating to complete either course.

   Australian Sports Commission free online training

The Australian Sports Commission has developed online courses for Australian beginner coaches and officials. Training is free and courses can be completed on the web at a time that suits you.

Courses are available from the Australian Sports Commission’s online learning portal https://learning.ausport.gov.au

Beginning Coaching General Principles

The Beginning Coaching General Principles online course has been developed to assist coaches to learn the basic skills of coaching.

It is especially aimed at people coaching children. The online course is currently available free of charge to Australian coaches due to a subsidy provided by the Australian Sports Commission (ASC), as an initiative to encourage beginner coaches to undertake training. Introductory Level Officiating General Principles

The Introductory Officiating General Principles course has been developed to assist new officials improve their basic officiating skills.

A major benefit of the online course is that officials can complete it in their own time from the comfort of their home. Thanks to a subsidy from the Australian Sports Commission, the online course is initially available free of charge to Australian officials (officials must have an Australian postal address).
